Hello! Just curious what everyone's favorite sled manufacture is, or what kind of sled you have currently. Respond to the forum so we can see what everyone's thinking!
There unfortunately are only two option anymore IMHO....Polaris and ski-doo. Yamaha is getting out of the business after next year, so doesn't make much sense to buy one, unless they come with a significanr price decrease, and Arctic Cat has fallen behind in development when they were purchased by Textron. I'd recommend doing demo rides or renting your preferred sled (track length, engine size, etc.) because both Polaris and ski-doo make a great sled, however, to answer your specific question, I ride Polaris.
I've been lucky enough to be able to test all kinds of different sleds but for me, nobody beats Polaris! I'm currently on a 2016 Polaris 800 163 which has an amazing balance point and great power!
Absolutely, I've got a boondocker turbo on there and it's made a huge difference in my riding. The biggest difference between a turbo sled and a non-turbo is how the power is applied and the difference in track speed. The regular 850 or 800 is very responsive off the start where a turbo takes a second to build boost before it really starts to dig (turbo lag). But once the boost starts to kick it's time to hold on because that thing moves! And then in deep snow, you might lose a little track speed with a regular 850 or 800 whereas with a turbo it continues to build and maintain track speed in the deepest of days. They both have their positives and negatives and depends on your riding style but for me, turbos are the way to go!
